What is the time commitment to volunteering ?
Time commitment varies depending on the type of volunteer activity. This ranges from one day events (special events), short term (less than 3 months) and long term (more than 3 months) commitments. Depending on your availability, you can choose to sign-up for a special event or something on a consistent and on-going basis.
Are there certain skills or training I need to be able to volunteer?
Each volunteer position or role might have specific skill requirements. New volunteers can also be trained for the specific duties or roles they will be carrying out.
Will I get a letter of reference after I volunteer?
A letter of reference can be given to the volunteer upon request.
If I have concerns about my volunteering experience, who can I talk to?
It is recommended that you speak out about any issues you may be facing to your seva team lead.
I do not speak fluent English. Can I volunteer?
No, Basic English might be required to volunteer. However, some opportunities do require fluent spoken English.
Can I volunteer for only one role at a time or can I do multiple activities?
You are free to get involved in multiple volunteer roles and activities as long as you have time to commit to each of them.
