Patanjali Yoga Sutras are considered to be foundation of classical Yoga Philosophy of Hinduism. They contain 185 sutras (aphorisms) and they were compiled thousands of years ago by Maharshi Patanjali. These sutras (aphorisms) that Patanjali has composed deal with spiritual practices. Although ancient, these sutras are very practical, and modern psychologists are discovering the utility of these sutras in guarding our mental health. Each of the aphorisms provides a perfect treasure chest of divine knowledge for us to be in union with God, which is the actual meaning of Yog.
In this series of lectures, Swamiji steps us through these sutras, explaining how they direct us to live our life purposefully, and how to master our mind, and attract the grace of God.
