Essence of Hinduism
People from time immemorial have yearned to understand the rarest of rare secrets of divine knowledge housed in the spiritual land of India. Multitudes have travelled to this holy land in search of that knowledge, which contains the key for bringing divine transformation to a person’s life. Accordingly, there is a natural curiosity to understand the truths of Hinduism through its scriptures.
However, without proper guidance from a qualified spiritual master, all endeavors to fathom the rich complexities of Hinduism, even with best intentions, do not meet with success. Even highly educated scholars go astray in their attempts to access Hinduism’s vast subtle knowledge, comprehend its wide-spectrum of concepts and then employ them meaningfully in their lives. Interestingly, “Hinduism” is a more recent term. The word “Hindu” was first coined by the Arabs to refer to the people who lived on the other side of the river Indus. The Vedic scriptures, which are the foundation of Hinduism, are referred to as Sanātan Dharm, or “Eternal Religion.” Based on scientific, non-sectarian and eternal principles, they reveal the path to God-realization, the very purpose of our human lives.
