Testimony by a devotee –

Past week, I realized once again how blessed I am when I had the chance to listen to the Shreemad Bhagavat Mahapuran Saptah by Swami Mukundananda.

Swamiji transported the audience into the realms of divine love. He rendered the ‘amar katha’ elegantly in English and quoted verses from Bhagavat puran,  Ramayan, and Bhagavat Gita, backing his narration with scriptural authority. Reflecting the tone of devotion and the characteristic of Bhagavatam, Swamiji delineated each avatar of Shree Hari, His various pastimes, and His sublime deeds.

While Swamiji’s nectarous narration of Shree Krishna’s bala leelas evoked love and laughter in the diverse audience with ages ranging from 7 to 80, other leelas moved us to tears, yet bringing a sense of tranquility

“A certain kind of calmness has descended on me by just engaging in a few minutes of conversation with Swamiji,” said the Honorable Mayor, Harry LaRosiliere of Plano, TX, while attending the program on August 13th. Welcoming Swamiji to his city, he acclaimed the JKYog’s efforts in the field of holistic health of the body, mind, and soul. In appreciation of the noble endeavors and undertakings of JKYog in the service of humankind, the Mayor presented the special recognition certificate.

By the 5th day of the Bhagavat Saptah, the festive aura set in as Ram Janma was celebrated. The Bhagavat Saptah culminated with Krishna Janma celebrations. We wore our finest traditional attire and prepared various sweet dishes to offer to the Lord.

Each day turned out into such a celebration of divine love that we couldn’t help but be enchanted by Him. In the ecstasy of devotion, Swamiji lead us in dancing to the sweet bhajans of Kripalu Maharaj ji.

“I don’t want this to end,” said Jayashree, a devotee from Plano, TX. She continued, “Swamiji has handed us the cream of Bhagavat in a beautiful manner. This is so sweet that I would love to relive these moments.”

I heard Pooja, another devotee from Frisco, TX, pleading, “Swamiji, can you please give a month-long discourse on Krishna leelas?”

As for me, like for most of the fellow devotees, after being drenched in the showers of nectar for seven days in a row, it was hard to part with Swamiji. However, the thought of  attending the upcoming retreat in Fortworth and being in the company of Swamiji, who always cheerfully imparts the invaluable treasures of his wisdom, gave me some solace.

With Love & Respect
