Jagadguru Shri Kripaluji Maharaj has revealed an unfathomable ocean of knowledge in a myriad forms for the benefit of devotees. These gems of knowledge serve as our ships to cross this cosmic ocean of Maya.

Selfless devotional service to Shri Radha Krishna is the ultimate goal a soul can achieve. To reach the zenith, we have to develop our positive, loving and affectionate sentiments towards them to such heights that our mind starts to shudder at the very thought of being separated from the divine.

One of the greatest devotional literature revealed by Shree Maharajji is ‘Radha Govind Geet’, a collection of 11,111 couplets (dohas) composed in the simplest form of Hindi that can assimilated by most people.

In this series of articles, we will quote couplets from ‘Radha Govind Geet’ with transliteration, to help devotees savour the nectar of divine love and increase their longing for God.

We begin with ‘Dainya Madhuri’, the opening set of couplets revealed by Shree Maharajji which epitomises a devotee’s feelings of humility and helps build the feeling of humbleness while singing the glories of Shri Radha Krishna.

Couplet 1 – 3

Radhe Radhe Govind Govind Radhe
                                                                          Radhe Radhe Govind Govind Radhe

Radha Krishna Naam Hai Govind Radhe
Chaitanya Ras Vigraha So Bata De

Radhe Govind Gave Govind Radhe
Radhe Govind Gave Rasik Bata De

Translation (Couplet 2)

The divine names of Shri Radha and Krishna are the true and live embodiment of the nectar of divine love, Shri Radha Krishna themselves as their exist in their names as much as in their form. There is no difference in their names or their personal divine form.

A devotee can relish the same bliss by remembering the divine names, ‘Radha’ and ‘Krishna’ much the same way as having their divine vision in a personal divine form. Such is the grace and greatness in the divine names of God. The constant remembrance and chanting of their names will elevate the soul to great heights, bring it ever closer to the divine beloved, Shri Radha Krishna.

Translation (Couplet 3)

Radha and Govind (Shri Krishna) chant the names of ‘Govind’ and ‘Radhe’ respectively. Radha worships Shri Krishna and in turn, Shri Krishna worships Radha! In their divine pastimes, Radha and Krishna are always looking to serve the other, contributing to the ever increasing flow of the nectar of divine love that the rasik saints of Braj savour by the grace of Radha Krishna.

Rasik saints advice devotees to chant the name of ‘Radha’ and ‘Govind’ in order to attain their grace and serve at their divine, lotus feet for eternity.
