Ms. Vishakha Tripathi (Badi Didi), President, JKP Education Trust conferred doctorate in Malaysia
Ms. Vishakha Tripathi (or Badi Didi as she loving called by friends and family), President of Jagadguru Kripalu Parishat (JKP), was conferred an honorary D. Litt by The Open International University for Complementary Medicines of Colombo at its 52nd International Congress in Kuala Lumpur on Saturday, June 7, 2014. Ram Puri, a senior representative of the organisation, received the degree on her behalf. Sir Anton Jayasuriya, who was hailed as the guru of alternative medicine worldwide, founded the university in 1962 in association with the Medicina Alternativa. Delegates from the across the world flew in to attend the International Congress event where they presented the latest research papers on the topics of integrated medicines and therapy. This was followed by convocation to honour and facilitate scholars with degrees. Badi Didi was felicitated for her work in social development in the auspices of JKP. JKP runs schools exclusively for girls and three hospitals that focus on providing modern medicines and hospitalization for the poor and the needy. The schools have a combined enrollment of approximately 4,500 girls from primary to post-graduate levels and plans to offer an MBA degree are in the works. Earlier this year, JKP Education was awarded the Nelson Mandela Peace Award for its contributions toward girls education. In May 2013, Badi Didi was honoured for her “unparalleled work” in the field of girls education by the Rajiv Gandhi Global Excellence Award Foundation.
