International Day of Yoga Celebration

Yoga is a system of holistic living, with its roots deeply entrenched in Indian tradition and culture. The ancient and timeless science of Yoga is a marvel that brings immense physical and mental benefit to mankind, irrespective of religion, faith, creed or gender.

One of the many amazing facts about Yoga and Meditation is that it is able to continuously evolve with the pace of human development and provide solutions to the health challenges faced by our society. The techniques of Yoga are able to cure and prevent many health related problems, which modern medicine is yet to fully understand.

In last few decades, Yoga has attracted global attention as well as acceptance. The awareness about Yogic practices is increasing among people from different walks of life, not only for preservation and promotion of health, but also for superior mental and spiritual well-being.

The League of Nations recognized the fact that global health is a long-term development objective that requires closer international cooperation through the exchange of best practices aimed at building better individual lifestyles devoid of excesses of all kinds.

It was only befitting that the United Nations, in a resolution adopted by the General Assembly on 11 December 2014, declared its intention to recognize Yoga as global phenomenon and a system of holistic treatment for health. A UN resolution was adopted that 21st June 2015 will be celebrated as ‘International Day of Yoga’.

JKYog has been at the forefront of a silent revolution that aims to serve the society with the true knowledge of Yoga, and to help people attain spiritual, mental, and physical well-being.

Since its inception in 2009, JKYog has been successfully hosting yoga & meditation programs across many states in the country. Led by founder Swami Mukundananda, a renowned teacher of holistic treatment through yoga, meditation and spiritual knowledge, JKYog strives to help individuals and communities lead better lives through Yoga and the various sciences associated with the Yogic system of living.

In celebration of the ‘International Day of Yoga’, JKYog is elated to join the global commemoration of this special event across the world. A special ‘Outdoor Yoga Festival’ program has been organized on the 21st of June at Radha Krishna Temple of Dallas (Allen, TX).
