As mentioned in the previous blog on this series, taking responsibility of our emotions is an important mindset to be happy. However, it is important to remain inspired in order to continuously put in the effort for self-enhancement. As Swami Mukundanand writes in his book 7 Mindsets for success, happiness and fulfilment –
“It is the fuel which provides fervor to our aspirations, enthusiasm for our actions and energy to our life”.
Inspiration is the vital ingredient that separates out the people who are successful in overcoming the worst situations from people who give up even on the smallest of obstacles. It is the background force which helps us in giving our hundred percent in terms of putting the effort and, leads us to successfully achieving those goals we care for. Also, for goals we are inspired for, we feel more enthusiasm and less stress, thus increasing our productivity. If we are inspired about something, we find ways to do it efficiently and effectively even in case of some obstacles or difficulty. If we are inspired, we tend to pass beyond our limits of customary experiences and imperfections and transcend to extraordinary experiences and perfection. Thus, it is rightly said that if the inspiration is lost, everything is lost. Patanjali Yog Darshan emphasizes the importance of inspiration in the spiritual journey
tivra samveganamasannah (verse 1.21)
This translates to – Endeavor for spiritual elevation with great energy
Inspiration can be of two types - internal and external. Successful people are inspired from within, in other words, they are internally motivated. They do things that they are passionate about and feel inspired in doing those things. They are not affected by external situations and negative people around them. Filled with enthusiasm, they overcome the obstacles in the path swiftly. However, for a person who is externally motivated, success depends on the favorability of the external world and if anything goes wrong with that, they feel disheartened. Thus, it is necessary to be inspired internally to discover the inexhaustible powerhouse of energy lying within us.
As we are discussing the various benefits of motivation and how important it is to be inspired from inside, a question naturally comes to our mind – How do we remain inspired? All this is very nice, and we understand that inspiration is very vital for our success, but how do we remain inspired all the time without being affected by the externalities of the world. Answers to these and many others are explained in detail in the new book by Swami Mukundananda - 7 Mindsets for success, happiness and fulfilment. Check out the third chapter of the book for all the divine knowledge about being internally inspired for your success in both the spiritual and materialistic world.
