Art is symbolism for one’s culture and plays an important part in the building of national history. It is exhibited in all the economic, social and physical activities of a society. Art has numerous classes like songs, music, dance, drama, folk rituals, performing arts, sacraments and ceremonies, decorating and writings. It is all truer in cases as of India, which have a history dating back to billions of years. Art has helped us in preserving the culture of India, also known as “SANSKRITI” in Sanskrit. For a Sanskriti to prosper, it needs proper founding in society. And, children are the best propagator of any Sanskriti. If we could imbibe the values of our culture in children, we could keep our culture ever prospering.
Bal Mukund Art Festival ’19 is providing a platform where children get to know the various aspects of Indian culture through participating in various competitions. Bal Mukund Art Festival is designed to bring the artist in children alive. They can express their creativity in various forms of arts like Acrylic Painting, Watercolors, Pencil Drawing/Shading, Colored Pencil and Crayons. They are encouraged to think out of the box and come with some beautiful masterpiece in the form of Art from the topic mentioned for their group. Bal Mukund Art Festival has come up with three different topics which are very vast in themselves. This has been done intentionally such that children may think from all sides and not limited to one direction.
Festival of India – India is a land celebrating the largest number of festivals in the world. Apart from 20-30 grand festivals, hundreds of small festivals are celebrated across India. Children may pick up any of these and use their imagination to show the colors of any one of the festivals in India. They may choose to show the celebration of the festival or use their imagination to create anything related to it.
Picture of your favorite form of God – Our scriptures say that God has infinite forms. Everyone chooses one of these forms based on their sanskaras and environments. Bal Mukund Art Festival is encouraging children to choose any form of God they like and make a beautiful image out of it. That may include only the image of God or it could be his past times.
Scenes from any of the Indian epics – Apart from two major Indian epics, Ramayana and Mahabharata, India also has various other epics like Panchatantra, Sangam literature, etc. Stories from these epics unique to Indian culture and are numbered in thousands. For Bal Mukund Art Festival ’19 children could pick up any story from any of these epics and create a masterpiece of art by applying their talent.
